How the numbers are calculated
Fragrance load is the weight of fragrance oil divided by the weight of wax. One pound of wax is 453.6 g, so at a 6% load you add 453.6 × 0.06 ≈ 27 g of oil. The table above simply applies that to the three most common loads.
A note on maximum load
More fragrance is not always better. Every wax has a maximum load it can hold before the oil leaches out and burn performance suffers. Stay at or below your manufacturer's recommended maximum, and read Candle Fragrance Load Explained for the full picture.
